Itinerary:
Day 1: Bangkok sightseeing tour
Listed 17 years ago as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ayutthaya is the gem in Thailand’s cultural crown, and an excellent attraction to be experienced by bicycle. Scattered over a large parkland area in a natural island on a bow of the Chao Phraya river, the site comprises of dozens of temples and ruin sites which we cycle among. In addition to a history lesson Ancient Siam from our guide, you also get to see another side of this central Thai town as we meander through rural landscapes and typical neighbourhoods that most tourists never get to trample through.
The ride continues heading into the countryside passing picturesque villages until you arrive at the river ferry. After crossing the river and lunch you’ll visit a fantastic gothic style Buddhist temple which is positioned on an island in the river. From here it is just a short stroll to the amazing Nineteenth Century Bang Pa In Royal Summer Palace with its eclectic mix of European and Asian architecture. You will be reaching for your camera endlessly!
