Gas tanker smash causes Bangkok traffic chaos

A gas tanker crashed and overturned on the north side of Bangkok early yesterday morning, causing traffic chaos for the next few hours. Witnesses said that the tanker’s driver seemed to lose control of the vehicle while exiting from a motorway ramp in the Pathum Thani area of the city.

Second Bangkok airport set to reopen

Thai aviation authorities have announced that Bangkok’s second airport will reopen on 6 March. Don Muang Airport was closed last October as floods swamped the airport’s runways and the surrounding northern suburbs of the Thai capital.
UK university to open Bangkok campus

A northern English university has announced that it will open a new campus in Bangkok in 2014. The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), which has campuses in Preston and Burnley, announced last week that it had reached an agreement with Thai entrepreneur Sitichai Charoenkajonkul to establish a Bangkok facility.
THAI lays out carbon emission reduction plans

Thai Airways has said it will introduce several measures in an effort to cut down on its carbon emissions. The Thai national flag carrier says it will replace onboard cold drink plastic cups with laminated ones made out of paper that has been recycled.

An unnamed Bangkok hospital ran a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan on an adult tiger last Wednesday. The scan was performed on 12-year-old male Meow to ascertain the exact cause of a long-term limp and its current general lethargy.
