Linkin Park to play Bangkok again

5 Sep 2011

Rock icons Linkin Park are scheduled to make their third appearance in Bangkok later this month. The band, with hits like the mesmerising Somewhere I Belong, will play at the Muang Thong Thani on 23 September as part of their A Thousand Suns World Tour.

Linkin Park previously played sell-out concerts in Bangkok in 2004 and 2007. These two performances were so successful that 40,000-strong audiences at both were left screaming for encores.

The six-piece band formed in California in the mid 1990s and currently comprises Chester Bennington on vocals, Brad Delson on lead guitar, David Farrell on bass guitar, Rob Bourdon on drums, Mike Shinoda on keyboards and Joe Hahn on turntables.

The Thousand Suns tour began in Buenos Aires in October of last year and has since taken in major cities in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Bangkok is the penultimate date on the tour. The band has played to wildly enthusiastic audiences with a set list featuring numbers including The Catalyst and Iridscent.

The album A Thousand Suns was released at the same time that the tour began. In charts around the world, the album went straight to Number 1 and The Catalyst, the single taken from it, also entered the Billboard Rock Songs at Number 1.

The concert is scheduled to start at 17:30 at Muang Thong Thani’s Aktiv Square and tickets are priced between 1,000 and 3,000 Baht. Tickets from www.totalreservation.com and information is available at 02 8335555 and info@totalreservation.com.
